The college seeks to encourage and promote various sporting activities. Sportsmanship helps students, especially young women, inculcate confidence and qualities of perseverance, leadership, and team spirit. Engagement in such activities leads to holistic development of students.

The college organizes sports every year at Sister Nivedita Udyan. Apart from the students the children of Srijan take active part in the games. The college also has a sports club, ‘Krirangan’, which encourages the talented students to participate in various competitions at the university, state and national level.

Women’s College, Calcutta holds an annual sports day.

The college held its last sports day on 20th February, 2020 at Bhagini Nivedita Uddyan. The sports committee, led by Smt Baishaki Das, Department of Philosophy and Dr Avijit Bannerjee, Department of Bengali as joint-convenors, has ensured active participation of young women in all major sports events. The 2020 annual sports was a colourful celebration with march past and a series of events. The college with its students, teaching and non-teaching staff worked together to make it a successful event.

The NSS cadets of the college presented a spirited march past resonating with the discipline and determination of the annual event and the college. This colourful display was followed by a parade, competitive races among the students, and befitting commentary from the stands. These are some photographs from the annual sports day 2020.
