Departmental Excursion

Department of Geography organizes regular field-trips as a part of its curriculum. Moreover, various departments like Sociology, History, Education, and others arrange for short educational tours.

 

Annual excursions are organized for the students in each academic session. Few of the latest excursions are -

  1. 62 students of 3rd year Honours of the Department of Geography have visited Dooars, Jalpaiguri,West Bengal in the academic Session 2019-2020 under Dr. Malabika Biswas Roy and Sri Prabhakar Kanjilal. The title of the field report was ‘Relation between physical and socio-cultural setup of Matiali block of Jalpaiguri District,West Bengal’.
  2. 64 students of 3rd year Honours of the Department of Geography have visited Santiniketan ,Birbhum,West Bengal in the academic Session 2018-2019 under Smt Baishakhi Datta and Sri Prabhakar Kanjilal. The title of the field report was “Physio – Cultural Study of “Amar Kutir Gram, Birbhum, West Bengal”
  3. 20 students of 1st year general of Department of Geography have visited Rabindra Sarovar Lake, Kolkata in the academic Session 2018-2019 under Dr. Malabika Biswas Roy. The title of the field report was “Observation of biodiversity hotspot, Rabindra Sarovar Lake, Kolkata”.
  4. 66 students of 3rd year Honours of the Department of Geography have visited Bishnupur,Bankura,West Bengal in the academic Session of 2017-2018 under Smt Baishakhi Datta, Sri Arnab Ghosh and Sri Prabhakar Kanjilal. The title of the field report was “Title of the Field Report:Physio-Cultural Study of Bankura District with Special Emphasis on Bishnupur Municipality Ward no. 3.”
  5. 15 students of 2nd year general of the Department of Geography have visited Ward No 7 and 8, Kolkata in the academic Session of 2017-2018 under Dr. Malabika Biswas Roy. The title of the field report was “Socioeconomic status and Environmental awareness among the slum dwellers : A case of Ward no. 7 and 8, Kolkata”.
