The Department of Music was established in 1992 (HS) and affiliated by University of Calcutta in 1995. This is the only Music department offering general degree to under graduate students in North Calcutta. This department has two full-time teachers and one accompanist. Experienced teachers with conscious efforts invest in developing each student of this department. Every teacher is constantly striving to improve the academic and performing fields of the students. Our goal and objective are not only to make a student a singer, but also to make her proficient in music with knowledge.

Department of Music is taking video interactive classes through various video conferencing apps. It offers teaching learning facility by posting music video and PDF files via online media. Many projects are done through online platforms such as world music day with semi classical, light music, folk music of many regions etc.
