Placements

 

 

The placement cell was established under IQAC of Women’s College, Kolkata in 2014 with Smt. Rakhi Banik of Department of Political Science and Smt. Rashmi Roy Mukherjee of Department of Journalism & Mass Communication as the joint-convenors of the Cell.

The Placement Cell plays a consequential role in locating job opportunities for the students after they attain their Undergraduate or Postgraduate degrees. The Cell functions all year round building contacts with companies and various industries and organizations. Many organizations like Chola, Aditya Birla, TCS, Reliance, and Amazon have already visited the institution many times for placement drives.

 

In 2019 the placement cell assured 35 students job opportunities. The Department of Labour, Government of West Bengal in collaboration with the Placement Cell, IQAC arranged a training programme for the students in early 2020. Every year placement drives are organized for students recruitment also full support is provided for the off campus job interviews and trainings as well.

Apart from regular placement drives, the Cell also actively encourages students for various internship programmes and on-the-job training programmes. In collaboration with Internshala students of various departments enjoy opportunities of national and international internships and voluntary work experiences. Many postgraduate departments also compulsorily arrange summer internships for the students.
