Admission Brochure for the Session 2021-22
The College offers 3-years Honours and General ( CBCS) Under Graduate (Bachelor) Courses in Science and Humanities(Arts) under the affiliation of the University of Calcutta. Hereafter, the above two streams will be abbreviated as B.A (Bachelor of Arts) and B.Sc ( Bachelor of Science) respectively.
- Application for admission in B.A/B.Sc courses in the session 2021-2022 shall be online only (http://www.womenscollegekolkata.ac.in) commencing from 2nd August 2021 following the guidelines of the H.E Department , Govt of West Bengal / University of Calcutta. Note : No printed Application form will be issued from the college.
A candidate may be admitted to the first year of Three –Year ( Six Semester ) B.A/B.Sc.(Honours/ General) under CBCS courses of studies on passing 10+2 Examination in General Stream Conducted by West Bengal Council of higher Secondary Education(W.B.C.H.S.E), ISC,C.B.S.E and different boards as approved by the University of Calcutta .
Subject to the conditions mentioned below : ( As per CU Norms)
- In case of Board / Council other than W.B.C.H.S.E., a candidate shall have to pass in five recognized subjects of full marks not being less than 100, of which one shall be “English”. A candidate passing in four subjects shall not be eligible to such admission to the course.
- For the purpose of determining eligibility for admission to the B.A/ B.Sc (Hons. / General ) courses, aggregate marks shall be calculated by adding the Marks in –Top Four Subjects in order of marks secured by a candidate .( Merit Point Criteria be given separately) .Marks in compulsory Environmental Education / Studies shall not be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks . However, if the subject “Environmental Sciences ” is studied as an elective of 100 marks , it may be taken into account for the purpose of deternining the aggregate marks .
- Any Application Form containing wrong or any incomplete information will be rejected.
Admission Procedure
The college offers 3-years ( Six Semester ) undergraduate Honours and General Course of studies under CBCS in Science and Humanities (Arts) under the affiliation of Calcutta University.
Students passed 10+2 level board examinations from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE), ISC, CBSE, and different boards of other states in India (as approved by the University of Calcutta; click http://wbchse.nic.in/html/equivalent_athourities.html) are eligible for admission to this college following the eligibility criteria mentioned. College shall not be liable for admission/ranking in the Merit List in case the previous 10+2 board is not approved by the University of Calcutta.
- Admission will be strictly on the Merit Basis.
- All admissions are provisional subject to approval of the Calcutta University.

Candidates belonging to the Reserved Category ( SC/ST) eligible for taking up Honours , must have obtained a minimum of 40% marks in the aggregate or 40% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination. ( As per Govt. / C.U. Rules ) on Merit Basis .
Important Note
- College has the right to cancel any admission if anomaly is detected, on a later date.
- Final General Subject combination will be decided at the time of admission according to merit, subject to availability of seats.
